Your Involvement

To best understand the potential impacts of any improvements that may be proposed as part of this study, it is important to gain the perspectives of those who would be most affected by any changes. Therefore, the success of this study depends on gaining input from members of communities located the study area.

PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING

A Public Information/Scoping Meeting was held from 5:00 to 7:30 PM on October 22, 2003, at the City of Dayton Senior Center, 18461 Dayton Street, in Dayton, MN. Staff from Mn/DOT, Anoka County, and Hennepin County was available to discuss the project, answer questions, and assist in submitting comments. Mn/DOT obtained public and agency input on the Scoping Document/Draft Scoping Decision Document. The official comment period ran from September 29 through October 29, 2003. Comments received were used by Mn/DOT to determine the scope of a future Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). However, at this time, there is no immediate schedule to proceed with an EIS. The Dayton Senior Center is disabled accessible. For any special accommodation needs, or to request aid for individuals with a disability to participate in the meeting, please call the Minnesota Relay Service at 1-800-627-3529 or (651) 296-9930 TTY.

Public Information Open House Held October 10th, 2001

On the evening of October 10, the study team held a public information open house at the Anoka City Hall. This open house provided information about what is being studied. The approximately 50 people who attended were encouraged to ask questions and give their input regarding the study. The next opportunity to attend an open house will be early in 2002. Be sure to check this website periodically to find out more information about this meeting.

Other Involvement Opportunities

Public meetings are an important method for us to gather input. However, other options are available for you to provide your comments. Two committees have been formed to help provide additional expertise to the study and to make sure the public is represented. Those committees are the Technical Advisory Committee and the Policy Advisory Committee.

Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) (PDF, 10KB) - This is a forum where local experts speak out on behalf of the jurisdictions they represent and provide technical input on issues and concerns related to potential river crossing and corridor locations.

Policy Advisory Committee (PDF, 7KB) - The PAC is a forum where elected officials representing cities and counties within close proximity to the study area provide input on general issues and concerns they and their constituents have regarding this study.

These committees gather on a regular basis to discuss the progress of the study. Click on the links provided for each committee above to see your local representatives.
